Forums, they always have been a contentious for me. Put a group of like minded people together and you will hear much the same replys. different in context maybe, but overall the same opinions. The written word can be so misinterpreted.. sometimes the outcome is good (what you want to hear) sometimes bad (not wanted to hear) it would be nice to find one that just stated the obvious, what they believed they heard, not what they should.
I have been around this forum for a few years, in the background and only recently decided to post
I have to say I'm not particularly interested in "streaming" or "your last listen" although I have contributed!
whatever happened to the likes of, djsr, alitate, even jimmy.
Where do we go from hear, won't sumbody tell me?

I like this forum and think it has improved of late. Less argumentative and aggressive and more harmonious. I post very little but read quite a lot. I like to read peoples’ opinions on what they have heard when making changes to their systems, what they are building, what music they are playing, especially if there is a little write up too. Gigs attended etc, etc. Oh! and streaming, there is a good source here for streaming. It’s all good stuff and none of it can be argued with.

As for specs, readings, measurements, nah! that’s what causes all the problems.
I believe this forum does ‘say what it hears not what it thinks it should’
‘’where do we go from here? ‘’ you ask, that will be determined by the content of members posts.
For me however it is ticking along just fine.

If it were not for this forum I would not have discovered NVA. That aside I find it an invaluable source of information and advice, especially where streaming is concerned. Until very recently I knew very little about ethernet cables and thought it was all about 1s and 0s. WRONG where music is concerned. This month I have made significant upgrades for small outlay in the chain before the signal reaches the streamer. This is in addition to the A80 Mk3 upgrade which does what is said on the tin. Although not relevant to my set up, I find the DIY threads interesting. And of course the music threads, that is what it is all about. 8-)

I'm learning all the while from the forum and I have little bursts of activity where I post up my opinions. I never comment on the really techy stuff as there are so many better qualified people than me. I am intrigued by all the various DIY threads, there are some talented people on here and I have been helped by quite a few so overall I am happy with it.

I think this forum became less good on the 10th of May 2019 at 7.21 PM.
search.php?author_id=27597&sr=posts

But there's nothing we can do about that. Time marches on and we can't turn it back.

All we can do is carry on as best we can. Which is not too bad so far, in my opinion...

I think we've seen some fascinating and informative threads, lately. I've especially enjoyed the DIY type threads, the streaming thread and the updates to members own system blogs. I've also discovered a couple of LPs that I wouldn't otherwise have known / considered. Thanks to all those who have contributed. Looking forward to more instalments.

The forum could never be the same again, after Richard passed, but it can be what we make it.
