Damn, blast and buffery !!!
My local Hifi shop in the nearest town has a pair of Diapason Adamantes III 25th anniversary speakers going for sale.
Ex-dem only 4400 euro (inc. stands).
Love these speakers. Hand-carved from solid walnut blocks and no crossovers.
Maybe I can get an extension on the mortgage.
So the question is ...
What are your dream hifi bits (turntables, amps, speakers, whatever) for when you win the lottery and finally have the cash to freely throw around????

Good question- not sure at the moment equipment wise- I think it would be room improvements and furniture- not of sound proofing to the rest of the house

I wouldn't mind upscaling my Primare amp and CD player and adding one of their DACs just to see how it all sounds.
[EDIT]
And an Oehlbach headphone stand.

If I won the lottery I dont think I would spend anything major on hifi. If I did not have the Mscaler I would get one. Very happy with what I have in the confines of my room.

Re: I Wish I Had The Money .....
Some people are so poor that all they have is money.
I can't get excited about spending huge amounts of money. Finding a bargain, especially if it's a bit left field, is much more satisfying. I wish I'd had the knowledge / experience / curiosity to have bought a couple of Garrards in the days when you could hardly give them away.
Richard was a master at seeing past the bullcrap / latest fad.

Wouldn’t mind a pair of big speakers. If I had the money I’d be looking for something like cubix. As an alternative, I’ve always liked Linn isobariks despite their shortcomings although I’ve not heard a pair for a very long time.

I had a large old ash tree cut down in my garden last year as the base of it was pressing against a 10 foot high garden wall.Fretless wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 1:22 pm Damn, blast and buffery !!!

We still have a big chunk of the trunk. Step-son said he'd make it into a garden bench, but hasn't touched it yet.
With a chainsaw and a CNC milling machine we could make quite a few hewn from solid standmount cabinets,
As I've already mentioned in another thread, when I can justify the £1500 I'll make a 4 way high efficiency Frankenstein pair of speakers from the body parts of various high end (by sound quality) classic Yank speakers. With driverss from JBL, Altec, EV. I'd initially use minDSP to blend it all together and then look at doing a passive crossover for it.
The cabinets would be made from some floor joists plus some tongue and groove floorboards left over from a dry rot elimination project.
