Since returning to the uk I have now completely changed my system, this has mainly been caused by me suffering from tinnitus and also hearing probs, I am waiting to go to the hospital for hearing aids
Anyway, this is the system as it stands at present:-

Top shelf: Project RS cdt and Auralic Aries
2nd shelf: Soekris 2541 dac
3rd shelf: Musical Paradise 301 amp and LPS for Soekris
Bottom shelf: LPS for Project cdt and LPS for Aries
Speakers: Tuolihao Q8

I am still experimenting with the position of the speakers, hence no spikes or isolation.

Nice setup Antonio, looks to be very carefully selected and put together. You should get plenty of enjoyment out of it.
Positioning of the speakers might be tricky as the room looks to be quite narrow.

Sorry to read of your hearing difficulties - I hope a good hearing-aid will sort that out.

Looking good Dave :guiness; I hope you will be happy together. It's only hifi though after all.

I hope you realise the speaker drivers are pointing in the wrong direction

Dave, that's the epitome of eclectic, I hope you resolve the tinnitus asap because that's a dreadful thing to suffer

An itch as been scratched and yesterday went and collected a pair of refurbished Quad ESL 57's. Even though they haven't had time to really warm up, I'm liking what I'm hearing. I was a touch concerned how my 7 watt amp would cope, but it drives them with ease to levels above what I would normally listen at, so very pleased. I still have my recently purchased pair of speakers from China and enjoy them also, spoilt for choice.

Those heaters should be handy in this freezing weather we're having this week.

On a more serious note, I can understand why you're liking your ESL's a lot.

Purchased a new amp on the recommendation of someone on another forum, Yaqin MS300. I replaced all the tubes before using it, still running in but am so far enjoying the sound, never had a 300B amp before. Also my Quad 57 have been raised, this has certainly improved sound staging, and finally I'm giving my XiangSheng dac another try.

Very good Dave, hope you are enjoying it. Your living room now looks like an advert from the 1950's (the olden days when everybody deed).

Nice shed by the way
