Kuzma Stabi S Vs Nottingham Audio Hyperspace

Unread post by TheMarlin »

I’m looking for a new Turntable for my living-room system, narrowed it down to two.

1./ A Kuzma Stabi S with 12” tonearm.
2./ Nottingham Audio Hyperspace (no arm).

I have two spare arms, Michell Technoarm 2 and an Origin Live Encounter 3c, so can put one on the hyperspace, I also have a Koetsu Black cartridge spare.

Kuzma would match room colours, but understated. Hyperspace catches the eye. More of a statement piece.

Which way would you go? Kuzma or Hyperspace?
Modded Belles A150 MK2, P90SA, & NVA SSP cables, and LS5.
Leak Stereo 20 & First Audio Classic Copper V2
Modded Lenco GL75 with Saturn arm, heavy custom plinth. Nagaoka MP500.
Nottingham Audio Hyperspace + heavy kit, + Origin Live Conqueror + Koetsu Black
Tom Evans Micro Grove MK2 MC phono
Bluesound Node2i (x2) both with latest power upgrades.
Topping D90MQA and Topping D90SE
Audiolab 6000 CDT transport.
All NVA cables

Without hearing them I couldn’t say, even then I don’t have your ears.

Are you looking at really good deals on either of those turntables?

Have you double checked for good deals on a decent idler or direct drive?

I’ve got a direct drive turntable already.
And picking up a funky rebuilt Lenko this week
Plus have two other turntables. Will have a clear out soon.
I just need something excellent sounding, but visually eye catching for livingroom (currently undergoing complete rebuild)

I don't believe you would go wrong with either, think I'd like to try the NA, I did hear one when my brother sold a VTL amp and we took it round to the buyer so he could hear it first.

If you like to swap kit regularly ("Two ever changing systems")...I'd probably go for what would sell-on easiest.

They are ever changing. I’m replacing both of my turntables, fancied a change.

But this new turntable for the living-room (Kuzma or Nottingham Audio) is likely to stay for years. Hopefully, many years.

So want to try to make the best informed choice.

Appreciate any words of wisdom

Cheers

Crikey!

It is not a wife friendly look….

She’s Italian, very fiery!

I think the two models I’ve chosen are the finalists

I've heard the NA. I thought it sounded a bit like it looks - solid but a bit clunky (not great timing). Of all the belt drives, I preferred the Well Tempered Versalex (that's not a looker, though) and the Rega 10 (which was a lot of fun, and looks quite cool, imo). Never heard the Kuzma.
