NVA VAT registration imminent - buy now without VAT

VAT registration is imminent. Given that we are discussing wholesale deals for overseas distribution, we are not going to try to stay under the £85k threshold any longer.

We have to charge VAT on any orders placed from the moment we exceed the threshold. We are basically one order away. However, we will keep our prices to you the same for the next 14 days.

So, if you've been pondering, now is the time...

Good news in terms of the turnover increase.

However £100kish turnover per year does not seem like enough to support 2 x full time employees. Making it more of a side hobby / labour of love business.

True story, so far...I have not taken a wage from NVA, and I've provided 'free' premises. This means that we have been able to reinvest revenues, and we are now very well stocked with all the things that cost large lumps of cash; cases, amp boards, transformers, heatsinks, capacitors etc. And, we have no debts. That puts us in a decent position to grow a little.

Breaking the VAT threshold means that we'll need to grow beyond £100k a year, hence looking at overseas distribution. We'll also have an expanded range on sale, very shortly - the 'new' AP20 integrated that debuted at the North West Audio Show (in 3 different colours - none of them black!) , plus Cube 3s. NVA will always be a small, niche business, but it can grow and it can be sustainable as a 'proper' business. The next 5 to 10 years will be about moving beyond 'labour of love / hobby' status, and eventually securing NVA's future beyond myself and Mark (Tomasz is just a lad, lol, so he may still be involved if he wants). The NVA ethos will not go out of date, it has it's place as the most purist of all British hi-fi manufacturers, imo, and there's still nothing to touch it for SQ at the price.

The INT400 & 400SA were priced to sell through dealers, assuming that VAT would be paid by the dealer. The prices of the INT400 & INT400SA won't change.

When customers have bought those models direct from us, we have given very generous part exchange deals, or a discount.

We've now exceeded the threshold, but our registration date will be 1st October (30 days from the end of the month that we exceed the threshold), so a little longer to buy without VAT.
