Modding a Logitech Transporter

I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in this but here goes... I've been into the Logitech Squeezeboxes for a long time, having three SB3s, a Duet and 2 SB radios. (I never did get the boombox or the touch) The "Transporter" was always the one lusted after and way out of my price range...

Re: How hard can it be?

I now realize that I didn't actually mention the sound at any point, lol, I would make a lousy audio reviewer and should probably be forceably ejected from a subjectivitst forum! Is it any better sounding? Actually, it is one of the most natural sounding DACs I've heard, there is a certain &q...

Re: How hard can it be?

I'm conscious of intruding on Latteman's thread and don't want to hog the attention but it's been a long time since I saw a post from someone who's traveled a similar path so I got a bit carried away! :geek: Anyway, I was asked so here are some more pics from the build. The CDPro2M build was in 2005...

Was that to me or to Latteman?

If it was to me than yes, how bored do you want to be? Lol. :epopc:

Re: How hard can it be?

And following on from the CD transport I built a DAC to sort of match it, again using the bottle stoppers and schaeffer metalwork. The DAC consisted of the TDA1541A DIY build from Pedja Rogic (forerunner to his AYA DAC) and the buffer amp from Hawk Audio MP-DAC. https://i.ibb.co/ZMK9V2V/IMG-2666.jpg...

I'm struggling with the image, is that visible to anyone? The link seems to work but not showing in the post for me.

Re: How hard can it be?

Cool! Looks great, well done! A long time ago (well, 16 years) I wanted to build a transport too. At the time there was a mech called CD Pro 2 from Philips that (in those days) didn't cost an arm and a leg. I bought one, plus a DIY controller kit and built a case around it using the Schaeffer CNC pa...
