Re: AUDIOPHONICS RaspDAC I-Sabre V3 DAC ES9023 TCXO

Unfortunately Dorset's a bout a five hour drive, so not really on the cards, thanks all the same. What do you actually get in the kit? It looks like you get the DAC (i2S?), a Raspberry pi of some description, the case, an LED (is it?) display unit and the ribbon cables to connect it to the GPIO pins...

Re: AUDIOPHONICS RaspDAC I-Sabre V3 DAC ES9023 TCXO

I'm still using my Durio Sound DACs on a pi B+, and I'm still bowled over by the sound quality. My CD player was sold on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and I have no plans to replace it. Ideally I'd like something that's packaged a little more robustly, as PCB's with wires sticking out of them are unsig...

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Just ordered enough ferrofluid for two tweeters. Just shy of £20 inc. p&p from USA. 5-7 days delivery time. The suspense is killing me. Will it work or wont it

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Thanks DQ. It is the 6 Ohm one I have. Are you saying that you think a 4 Ohm one would work without mods? The guy at Willys gave me the impression that it wouldn't, saying that the windings would be different - number of, and guage of wire were his arguments, although I've learnt over the years that...

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Posted this on Sunday... Try again: FWIW I cleared my browsing history and it cured the problem displaying the site. Quick update... and a plea for advice/opinions. The spare voice coil arrived, and appears to be a straight replacement, so no problem there. Now I'm on the horns of a dilemma: do I re...

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Thanks for all the votes of support guys. I've certainly got my fingers crossed, but I daren't get my hopes up until it's job done and they're up and working again.

If it works, hopefully this post can be of help to someone in the future, googling in hope of a solution to a similar problem.

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Update for anyone who's interested. Wilmslow haven't got back to me yet, but I spoke to a very helpful chap at Willys Hi-Fi in Essex, and after a couple of hours he got back to me and informed me that the tweeter was no longer available, despite some websites saying that they had it in stock. It's d...

Re: Tweeter Repairs

Current situation is that I'm waiting for Wilmslow to get back to me. They seem very helpful. The D26NC - 15 - 06 does appear to be available from Solen in Canada, now made by Peerless. They're $23.24 CAD each + p&p, so I think that I should be able to resurrect them - hopefully  Thanks ag...

I feel your loss Walt..... Never good when a pair of Royds give up the ghost..... You can fix em though, but alas they will never be the same again...... :o Personally I would have been tempted to post this in the Obits thread........   Jammy, I was so sure that I could...
