Re: Yorkshire HiFi

My parents used to have some Yorkshire HiFi bookshelf speakers, wish I'd kept them. They had white rose logos on them.

Better off getting a nice pair of Sapphires instead...

Are those Isonoe feet that you've put on the PL-71? Must admit I don't like the sprung feet...

Re: Grado GS1000i/PS1000.

A lot of people actually prefer the RS1s too (I use them with an NVA AP10H, a fine combination!). http://www.head-fi.org/t/519363/upgrade-from-grado-rs-1-to-gs1000 How old are your RS1? I see there is also the RS1i. Does the RS1 suit all types of music? S. I think they're around 5yrs old. At this l...

Re: Balanced line mains

Well from my listening I am convinced that not only cleaning up mains noise and distortion this unit makes more difference musically than an equivalent amplifier upgrade. Really pleased Only downside at the moment is the transformer is so big and heavy stopping it breaking loose when held by glue c...

Yep, was a bartender for years, from pubs to hotels to Student Union to a snooker hall. Miss it sometimes. :P

Re: New NVA website - proofreaders needed

There's some old copy on: https://james-selby-fgta.squarespace.com/ap10h-headphone-amplifier "Note that old-style 8 ohm headphones will not work properly, and may damage the amplifier. Headphones of 200 to 300 ohms and higher of the modern variety is the kind you should use, and are almost univ...

Re: Royd Sapphire 1

I love the Sapphire MK1s, not as refined or as balanced as the Sorcerers, not a vast & deep a sound, but great fun & very natural with vocals. The Sapphire MK1s are likely to work well with a lower-powered integrated, but the Sorcerers really open up when paired with higher powered amps.

Re: Talk 3 Speaker Cable.

Not recommended for NVA Shane. Using any other speaker cable than NVA invalidates our amplifier warranty. Talk 3 has been recommended here as acceptable along with other low capacitance cables: http://www.nene-valley-audio.com/frames/nva/warranty.html This could create some confusion, no way to tak...
