Re: JPW AP2

I've decided to hold fire Doc. I'll get the Bison adhesive that you recommend, no point in spoiling the ship for a ha'porth o tar. They say good things come to he who waits.

Thanks once again for your guidance.

Re: JPW AP2

Thanks Doc.

I feel like trying my glue, but the common sense thing to do is to heed your experience and do it right - a couple of days though - I can't wait that long ;)

Re: JPW AP2

Can I use any rubber based solvent glue or does it have to be Bison? I could potentially syringe the solvent/rubber based stuff out of the tin I purchased to do the metal plates as that stays flexible, would that be the idea? To extrude a bead around the dust cap - and that'll do for starters? Thank...

Re: JPW AP2

Now enjoy them, the next changes are more complex and require you to judge the amount of doping though I will guide you approx. Also the musical gain will be less as the JPW have pretty simple crossover already, but it is worth doing when you are ready. Probably best to upgrade parts of your system...

Re: JPW AP2

Doesn't work with all speakers. Complex crossover speakers are so musically fecked up already it may even make them worse. Simple speakers with simple(ish) crossovers and you release the music from the jail it has been in. Well I'm very impressed with how these are turning out Doc. The journey thus...

Re: JPW AP2

OK. Both cabinets are now steel plated. Much more realistic! On Take Five.. Paul Desmond's sax used to drown out Dave Brubeck's piano and Eugene Wright's bass, with only Joe Morello's drumming accompanying - not any more, it's a quartet all playing together as if (I imagine) it would be if one were ...

Re: JPW AP2

Did you get the bitumen padding out? Mine had gone rock hard and was immovable. No Daniel, the bitumen in mine was rock hard too, I also noticed that all bitumen slabs were not only stuck on with hot melt glue but also extensively stapled in place, so I didn't even try to remove them. I was pleasan...
