Re: Your last listen

Quote terrybooth Good grief, its been years. I have always had 'there but for fortune' in the collection but never listened to her much. Got onto MacTubes as soon as I read your post and downloaded lots to listen to. A quick listen tells me her voice is a bit penetrating and flat for me, pure thoug...

Re: BEST SOUND - VINYL OR CD....?

I don't think that was the point mate - the question was aimed at people with both and what they preferred. Of course different music, seems pointless to have both . I only have a couple of records duplicated on CD. So this is not scientific, it is more what is your preferred "go to" when...

Re: Mo' Better Blues

I like that Michael Burks. Really proves that less can be more. Not flash, seems to be playing half the notes that usual suspects manage but musical as hell. As usual, thanks for he link :D

Re: The Humble 1210.

Nothing wrong with the look of any of them.......unless you sit them next to something like this :D http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac306/cyprusmemory/image_zpsfecbd552.jpg How I hate plywood plinths. They just look tacky to me. Trendy but so easily improved with a bit of high class veneer. Its ...

Re: wood burning stove

Thanks for your kind comments gentlemen. I think you underestimate what you do Richard. I am in total awe of anyone that designs and builds electronic stuff. When I look inside my OTL, I am just astonished that anyone can get their head round what is going on. It is utter gobbledegook to me. My head...

Re: wood burning stove

No advice but I reckon the woodburner is a good idea on any level. We have stripped out our central heating system and its huge, smelly oil tank and now have two woodburners providing all our heat. One fire in the front room which heats two rooms, one toasty and the other just comfortable. In the ki...

Re: New Member

Welcome from me too.

I've just bought a Pioneer CD player (stable platter) on the Bay for £26. These things sound terrific to my ears, so why spend more? Valves and Quad 57s for me.

Not convinced by the snake oil salesmen then? What a strange chap!! :D

Re: Lonely

I have come back from Spain with food poisoning, I was shaking all the way home on the plane and spent most of the flight on the loo, and from the airport, with a temperature. Apart from checking emails and forums for a little entertainment I have spent all day in bed. Bloody typical of you young b...
