Re: Pinky's Funky Rambling's....!!!

Very funny I refer you back to my post on page 24 of May 28th (are there no numbers on HFS posts?). Sue has just returned with some cushions from Dunelm Mill - to try as "swatches" rather than bring curtains back. We had 15 mins before her hairdresser arrives. I dutifully looked and chose....

Re: Pinky's Funky Rambling's....!!!

Hmm. If its good out of the box, it can be the keeper. Otherwise, I may just be tempted by the Dynavector. Early days, but... On one of my AOS early rambles, I talked about "satisficing" rather than "optimising" - a term I learned in systems theory at Uni. Essentially the idea be...

Re: Pinky's Funky Rambling's....!!!

Oh golly, and I've just won an Ortofon MC25FL on fleabay based on comments seen on AOS regarding its performance against the Zyx cartridges I was also interested in. Give it a listen I suppose when it arrives - if its not shagged. Nice to have the virgin here to reference against though. I live in h...

Re: Pinky's Funky Rambling's....!!!

Oh Jammy - you've ruined my continuity. Bastard. Er yes - feeling a bit guilty given the listen I've just been having with Arthur's virgin. I've a feeling I wouldnt have bothered buying them or making the poor lad wreck the suspension on his "Bongo" collecting them for me. Never mind - I'l...

Re: Your last listen

As I sit down to ramble on another thread - Joan Armatrading "love and affection" - my old standard reference when playing with new kit.

I'm quite touched. Really special of her to come all this way and bring the band with her - I'm used to just having to listen to her records

Re: Another stupid question - passive pre related system bui

Those myst were great amps. We used them at pt in the early days when Mike and Mary were often at the factory. Cant understand why they didn't do better.

Re: Another stupid question - passive pre related system bui

As Andrew points out, a lot of situations are happy with modest power. Bi-amping is probably a last / late refinement, when you are happy you have the rest of the system right. Anyone got any suggestions for how to do it on the Lowthers?
