Re: DAC & Interconnects bake-off - Durham

Hello,

If possible I'd like to come along to this.

I can bring an Arcam irDAC-2 and a cheap yet very impressive little Chinese Sabre USB DAC with a linear PSU. I'd be coming from Gateshead.

Re: Internet Radio

Looks like Radio Paradise may have bit the dust. Not been on air since yesterday morning. A quick glance on their Facebook page suggests that new royality charges may have done for them, a free station who exist solely on listener donations. I hope it's just a temporary thing. RP has been part of m...

Re: 'Harry'

Listening to one of the most beautiful albums ever made “A Little Touch Of Schmilsson In The Night” by Harry Nilsson . this was a groundbreaking album that was made in 1973 full of American standards and made 40 years before everyone and his/her brother started jumping on the bandwagon making album...

Those of you who live in the south east will find this page interesting. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-thames-barrier Particularly the stats on how often the barrier was closed in 2014. Almost as many times as the previous 10 years. The Foss barrier unable to cope with the volume of water we've be...

Indeed, the old site had to be taken down after being attacked. Steve spent considerable time and resources getting a new site sorted.

For the record it can be found here.

Re: Chromecast Audio

Terry, get the showbox app and download a third party casting app such as localcast or all cast and then you're all set for basically any movie or show.

I use mine into the TV hdmi slot and then an optical out from to my DAC. Sound quality is excellent.

Radio Paradise new app - 320k stream and Chromecast support

Just downloaded the new RP app for mobile. Seems theres now a 320k aac stream on offer and for Chromecast users now a cast button. I love RP and my Chromecast which I've got connected to my Benchmark DAC sounds great with it. The photo stream on the TV to accompany the music is a nice touch too. The...
