Re: Go digital with Windows Server 2012
Hi terrybooth, I don't understand your 'not understanding the difference between streaming and reading a file' (from disk off a network). Isn't streaming just that? Reading a file over a network as opposed by downloading a file before you can read it? Maybe it is my English failing here. I know ther...

Re: Go digital with Windows Server 2012
DSD processing, especially the DSD128 and DSD256 need a lot of horsepower due to the heavy filtering that is needed. Even my i7 CPU has trouble with DSD256, is getting very warm and at times the music starts to stutter. I don't think the pi is powerful enough to do that. However the pi has the advan...

Go digital with Windows Server 2012
I have a wonderful system for digital streaming. I built a computer myself, core i7, fanless, external psu and ssd. Running HQPlayer embedded on Linux (Ubuntu studio). The sound is great, but as we all know, you keep wondering if it can any better. So I read a lot about using Windows Server 2012. Th...

Re: King Crimson live at The Lowry 11:09:15
This post reminds me all of a sudden about the Discipline concert of King Crimson in Paradiso, Amsterdam, way back. I guess it must have been something like 1980?
Probably the best concert I ever saw with Bill Brufford, Adrian Belew and my all time favourite bassplayer Tony Levin.

Re: Meet Ups
Fretless, thank you for your hospitality in your wonderful house. The NVA's sound wonderful, open and transparent, even with the unmatched tweeters. I enjoyed it very much. Decided to start with the sound pipes, I have to measure what length I need. I still have the a80's in mind, but that is for la...

Re: What treasures did you find on our streaming services?
By the way Johan , your Qobuz link gives those without a subscription access to only a 1-minute excerpt from each track - sounds nice, though. Thank you for mentioning that one. Probably not possible to stream the complete album without subscription in Qobuz. Here is the spotify link which m...

What treasures did you find on our streaming services?
Streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and Qubuz are considered as heaven for all those who appreciate music. I guess you also know the feeling opening your favourite service and think... now what? The overwhelming amount of music can paralize the decision of choosing anything. Of cours...
