Re: Richard Dunn
Having been unable to attend the funeral, hopefully following my PM to him, Savvy was able to pass on my condolences. If not I hope Nadia is encouraged and comforted by the messages of support. My only contact with Richard was through the forum and via a few phone calls when I had a some issues with...

Re: Classic CD Players
Would u consider my Meridian 206 classic- never use it these days- had it new Had a Sony cdp770 TIL recently- my first player I suppose it depends on which version. There were 3 different types over the years. I had a 206B and it was one of my favourite two CD players. It stopped working and I sent...

Re: Speakers that don't require a listener sweet spot.
Would Shahinian speakers be able to provide music without a sweet spot?
I seem to remember another brand of speakers with upward firing drive units as well but can't think of the name of them.
Edit - looks like the brand I was thinking of is Sonab

NVA Cube 2 review
I could talk about how, when I put the Cube 2s in place I got better image depth, instrumental decay and tone with these speakers. Cymbals are more realistic and the musical space seems to be filled out more compared to the Cubettes, bringing greater coherence to a performance. Positions of instrume...

Re: May the Cube2 be with you ..... too !
I use Atacama SE24 stands which stand on some plinths made from walnut worktop offcuts. I have Docs washing machine feet between the stands and the speakers and I could still do with the tweeters raising a couple of inches. I might go with some 40mm chopping boards attached to the top of the stands ...

Re: advice on change
The only amp that I have heard from your kit is the Cyrus and my AP20 and P50sa/A20x easily better it. For me the stepped attenuator made a big improvement and I would always recommend buying one if you can afford to.

Re: How much !
I have owned both a Sugden A21 and an early version of the A21a (the one with the orange power switch) from the 90's and I have to agree with DSJR about the original version. I enjoyed the A21a though, probably my favourite pre NVA amp.

Re: Wot it means to have a bona-fide ProgMasterman in your midst
Firstly you puppies should be submissive to the older, prog-wise dog. I cannot stress this overmuch. The resident Progmasterman must be shown DEFERENCE. The Progmasterman deserves your respect. This is the key. When forums become frivolous and...bouncy and unpredictable in their frequency of plianc...

Re: Skip finds
I found a valve radio which my niece has as at the moment, I was able to pick up some distant stations on it but it still needs attention. She has never switched it on and only has it as an ornament really. Also a Sony music centre years ago that I stripped the turntable out of and made a new plinth...
