Re: CD - it's not dead yet!
it's been a very long time since I've posted here but I've been snapping up second hand CDs from various places for years and have recently got back to buying vinyl as well. I do prefer physical media to streaming I only bought a couple of new CDs for the first time in probably 5 years because I hav...
Re: DIY LSx
OK, thank you Paul.
Yes I would appreciate it if you could let me know which is the correct cable for LS2. Thinking about it, the other option could be to buy a single run of LS3 and reterminate, obviously that would negate any guarantee or upgrade options.

DIY LSx
My daughter needs some short speaker cables for her system and I want to try and make up some DIY LS1 or LS3. Is it possible to find out what type of wire is used or is it a trade secret? The other option could be to go for a doubled up version of LS2, after making up a DIY version of these I think ...

Re: Last night a the proms
I didn't watch it but I really enjoyed last Friday's performance with Anoushka Shankar.

Re: Discogs - by Collectors, for Collectors
Discogs is excellent for tracking down specific releases as it lists many different versions of the same title from various territories and years. Although I have recently read about sellers listing items for sale under the first available entry I haven't personally received the wrong item yet. I fi...

Re: Do lyrics make sense?
And then there's that other 60s waltz, 'Delilah', you know it. But what does I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind mean? I know it sound dramatic, but what were they doing? Indonesian Shadow puppets? Well yes in a sense. If there was a lamp behind her then a silhouette could have been s...

Re: Amplified vs Phono stage question
When a tv is connected to a hifi can you not use the tv remote to change volume ? Showing my numptiness here. Or does the signal exit the tv at a fixed level ? I think you're probably right if using the output via the phono sockets, HDMI and optical. Berty if your TV has optical out what about abou...
