Re: Similar to the thread I started about hifi

I'm well over 20 and I couldn't name a Nirvana "song". I not sure being able to name something by a group whose music doesn't interest me is a particularly valuable metric. My granddaughters really like Smells like teen spirit. What ever you say, means nothing to me The likes of kids toda...

Similar to the thread I started about hifi

https://hellorayo.co.uk/planet-rock/news/rock-news/gene-simmons-rock-is-dead-again/ A lot of truth in this. When I see a band the age demographic is similar to the Bristol hifi show I went to last year. The only diffnerenceh is that there are more females present when I see a band, but the attractio...

Re: DAC to the Future

https://i.imgur.com/cT2MN62.jpg The Questyle M12i did not take long to arrive and connected to my Beyerdynamic Avetho closed headphones which I use for out and about it is a revelation. It sounds better than the AQ DF Red and Cobalt which cost more and wipes the floor with the cheaper DF Black. Wha...

Re: Got tickets to see - your next live listen

Got my ticket to see Saxon next November. They will be playing their breakthrough album Wheels of Steel in full on its 45th anniversary.

How many boxes in your home network / streaming set-up? If I gave the number someone might send for the men in white coats. From what I have picked up on other forums I am not alone. Hifi was far simpler decades gone by, TT, amp and speakers. A complete system was Turntable, Tuner, Tape Deck,...

Re: Are we are a dying breed?

With WiFi there is less need for hi res bluetooth in the home than the more challenging environment outside. I do not find a wired connection outside much of an inconvenience providing the DAC headphone amp is small. My Chord Mojo is fine for the garden and picks up the WiFi from the house. Out walk...

In tend to think that the younger generation have it right, they don't worry about "fidelity" they worry about the music not the hardware.

Fidelity is not so important with modern mastering of most of today's popular music. The situation was very different 40-50 years ago.
