Re: SCHIIT

I had the Bifrost for a couple of years. Very clean and even handed. Definitely bettered a Beresford Caiman that I had before that. Only had the digital input. The USB input was as an optional extra. Later, when I was getting more into computer audio, I sold the Bifrost and bought an ifi iDSD Micro ...

Re: Phono Plugs

No I wont, I repeat, I design, I build. It is against my principles to do something that is waste of time and money. The ONLY reason I used Neutrik was as someone said with mk1 SSP it was needed as it clamped the cable better to stop twisting and breaking, but as it turned out customers still twist...

Re: Phono Plugs

It's piss all to do with BLING, you can't see the bloody things! The Neutriks are definitely a more solid plug and I think they ARE a tighter fit than the others. Re: Phono Plugs

When the standard plug is just as good as the Neutrik then you should be insisting that the standard plug is used. Why increase prices when there is no difference in sound or build quality? Do you go round the back of your system each day to drool over your phono plugs? In any event they are covered...

Re: Fora personalities whose advice is best accepted

Basically, what DQ said :guiness; I have been 'into hifi' for more than 30 years. I still only know 'what I know' and only in the context of what I have actually heard in my own set up. I do know that in the few months I have been here I have learnt much more and enjoyed music more than at any other...

Re: Computer Audio. Wish There Was a Bullet Proof Blue Print

I thought the original argument was about convenience vs performance? So far I've heard that a NAS plus interpretive hardware/software trounces any CD/DAC combo up to £5K. Err... I doubt/challenge that, plus I'm not sure it's any more convenient? The idea of a superior source/experience is subjecti...
