Re: Audiophile Cafes
The owners should say this is far from a domestic environment and you do not have to spend a fortune on something that will blow the usual Spotify Bluetooth speaker out of the water at home. I am reminded of a couple of things: In my dim distant past I went with a group to a disco - I'm NOT a disco...

Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)
TIS The Doc said he wanted less complimentary reviews as well as good ones. So here goes. I'm a sucker for a bargain so when the Doc offered TIS at 20% off, I couldn't resist. Like the LS6 it seemed to take ages to run in but I think I got somewhere close. I have to say the level of detail and leadi...

Re: The Hi-Fi Enthusiast
Reminds me of my first system. Teleton SAQ 25, Garrard SP25MK2 and Wharfdale unit 3's. Took ages to build the unit 3's and solder up all the DIN plugs for the amp (was very glad to see phonos which are a lot easier). The speakers sat on the floor and it sounded a lot better than my mum and dad's old...

Re: Let's see some of your favorite hard rock...
Not really into hard rock but I got a set of America CDs on Amazon. Really good value and the content isn't bad either. Think a mixture of The Byrds, Pentangle and Orleans. Not an audiophile set of recordings but really pleasant if you like twangy guitars - and I do.
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!

Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)
LS6 & BMU I had been happily using TQ green speaker cable for a few years but lusted after TQ ultra black - but could never find it at a price I was prepared to pay. I came across a review that said something like "NVA LS6 is about 95% of TQ ultra black" - so at a quarter of the price ...

Re: Doped drivers, why?
I had a similar question to that of jonty's a few months ago. I can understand why the doc gets p'd off having to repeat the same thing time after time. However if it were possible to have the technical explanations and insights located in one place I for one would find it fascinating. In my case t...

Re: Doped drivers, why?
I've used a photography analogy before and here's another couple. Some lenses 'measure' extraordinarily well but for whatever reason might render images in a less pleasing way than perhaps an older or 'technically inferior' one. I now buy lenses based on how they render an image with real life subj...

Re: Poll : Where will Donald Trump start World War 3?
It would be like dog biting an elephants leg. The soviet forces are just not up to it, they will be wiped out. All they have to make anyone scared is their nuclear arsenal. Remember WW2. They crushed the Nazis. It has as much to do with financial strength as military might. Bluntly, anyone not afra...

Re: Poll : Where will Donald Trump start World War 3?
The trouble with this thread is that it may be just to close to the truth. The ancient saying "pride comes before a fall" seems appropriate. I just hope no one gets hurt, not even Donald.

Good advice and sensible solvent. Let it dry completely before re-assembly.Daniel Quinn wrote:Because the pt bearing is inverted. It is not difficult to clean. Clean it with isopropal alcahol each and every time.
