Re: Sci-Fidelity

Oh Lower decks and SNW are excellent, I hope they use any spare budget to either carry on with the Empress in Section 31, or give Jack and 7 of 9 a run in a spin off of Picard.

Re: Obits

On a less surprising note Shane MacGowan has gone at 65. Having seen him relatively regularly in a Highgate pub in the 2000's, I'm amazed he's gotten this far. He and M. E. Smith seemed to have an appetite for epic self destruction which is a shame as I miss Smith, and I loved the Pogues. Certainly ...

Re: Sci-Fidelity

Hardly surprised to see that they have canned Discovery, the first two seasons were ok, but the third & fourth were so dire it wasn't true. Even by sci fi standards the plots were dreadful. A ship full of relics from 900 years ago rocks up, and they manage to solve a mystery that has flummoxed t...

Re: Dutch Elections

Oh! - Dutch Land, after Swede Land is the country I would have thought least likely to fall for that sort of malarky.

Re: CD - it's not dead yet!

Only last night a friend was extolling the virtues of vinyl over CDs, He then proceeded to show me a "fantastic" re-release of an old jazz album. It was on an obscure eastern european label with poor quality printing of the sleeve notes. I hadn't got the heart to tell him it was probably ...

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

Why he did not go for a free vote eludes me, it's not as if it was ever going to change anything. Last night was very much in the realms of gesture politics and regrettably he fluffed his lines and shot himself in the tush.

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

It's a desperate move.

You might call it a poke in a pig...
And yet somehow the country elected him, and then Boris. Democracy really needs to have a long hard think about what it's been doing recently...

Re: Jokes & Funnies

Stolen from Linkedin of all places.. An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top of her lungs, "I have a gun, and I know how t...
