Re: Upscaling - M-Scaler, HQ Player, etc - your experiences

Personally I dont have experience of HQ player, however I have found benefits from both the Mscaler (44.1 KHz up to 705.6 KHz) and also from a Mac based software package Amarra Luxe.(44.1 up to 176.4 KHz) Generally the benefits are around a broadening of the sound stage, and what I can only describe...

Re: 'Lost' Desert Islands Discs recordings found

Re: Digital Re-Clockers a strange thing but worth trying

I have been usng an Audio DG - DI20 for the last six months. Have to say it does make a positive difference - bigger sound stage cleaner and more relaxing to listen to. Purchased from Magna HiFi - cost of €500 - customer service was very good. There is a thread on Head-Fi about the DI-20 - generally...

@slinger - Saw your reference to Paul Young - thanks for reminding me Cant remember how it came to be but somehow I recenly got directed to Paul Young on The Tube - link below. I missed it first time round -there is just something about those 80's backing singers - Guilty (not exclusively musical) p...

Re: Tube buffer with Tube amp

I had a Musical Fidelity X10.V3 back in the day, it was used between CD and headphone amp. I was trying to soften the sound from my CD player, but in the end the effect was too subtle.I think I was using a Linn Ikemi to X-cans v3. I quickly googled the MF X10 and there is a quite a bit of discussion...

Cable Elevators

I came across this whilst browsing the PS Audio forums in the US. From these videos it seems that cable elavators may be a thing. However it's suggested that the degree of effect is dependent on type of cable and sensivity of system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh1EWGu7Te8 https://www.youtube.co...
