Re: Digital Streamer Geek / Nerd / Guru Help required please
Can't you tell the DHCP server part of the Virgin router what IP range to dish out IP addresses in? Yes of course with one little proviso Using the VM hub in its normal router mode (out of the box), you cannot under any circumstances, use the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, this is reserved for the ;guest w...

Go to your ISP. Tell them your router is rubbish as it's throttling your internet speed via the wired connections. See if they will send you a new router for free. Nothing wrong with the router, plugging in and doing a speed test I get 250Mbs download as I should. The problem is that Virgin in thei...

Re: Optimal internal speaker cabling for nva amps
I'm not sure about using it in open baffle designs, but tinned solid core copper wire of an appropriate gauge would be my choice ... failing that (and for safety reasons for exposed cable) Solid Core Mains Cable with the conductors separated out

Yeah stuck with the superhub but disabled all the features (wireless DHCP and firewall) use a wireless router connected to that to provide real networking. I have a Cisco RV134 VDSL coming now though

Sorry, been listening to music 🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶 Doesn't want to play with my NAS box but I'm not surprised as it uses smb-1. Worked out how to turn on dnla media sharing on one of the PC's, and that works well, except for volumio sometimes refusing to play the files. It's upsampling my FLAC CD rip...

Re: It's so Ethereal
An OKish option would be for you to offer £60 per switch on this listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255362441595? I have no idea as to whether the more expensive when new Cisco 3560G would result in better sound in your system than the HP 1400. It's £50 for the pair vs £120 to £130. Offer made for...

Re: It's so Ethereal
Would a 1 Gbps speed be OK for you? Or would you want 10 Gbps? Would you want the option to take SFP adaptors, so that you could try a fibre connection? Would you be open to having an HP switch intead of a Cisco? Having looked for the 8 port fanless Cisco switches, I've only found two on the bay of...
