Richard was a fan of Avel Lindberg transformers back in the day, and I had no issues with mechanical noise on the original A80's which used a 300va for the input/pre driver/driver, and 450 va on the output so 750va per monolock. Later amps with the Clairtronic, Vigortronix and others didn't fare as ...

Has anyone compared the Cubette to the Royd Minstrel.?

At some point I'm planning to put a system in a very small room that probably won't accommodate the Royds as I find they need a good 15" or so space behind them. Same with the Q Acoustics I have.

Reduced to £695.!

I bought a pair years ago for next to nothing after being very impressed with them at my parents house when I did the NVA challenge, but they didn't work here at all

Can't remember if they were £129 or £149 when I was selling them back in the late 80's.

A little rough around the edges, but very engaging, and revealing. One of my favourites.

You could be right about this being a very early NVA model, most integrateds that I can see photos of have the control knobs front left, opposite the input sockets. This amp has knobs front right and the whole setup is reversed. :think: All the bolt up integrateds I have seen used the pcb from the ...
