Re: Musical Fidelity V-DAC II

Small update. Factory op amp in my V-DAC II was replaced with OPA1612, and oh boy. Midbass is way, way better, bass is not mushy at all, and on the other side vocals are really amazing. When I played Some misunderstanding by Soulsavers, voice of Mark Lanegan was so much forward to my face that it al...

Is it possible to roll tubes with ifi?

I read many stories about musical fidelity x10-d and modifications that can be done, quite impressive. There are even chinese clones based on x10-d

Tube buffer with Tube amp

Just recently I have discovered the existence of tube buffers. Did anyone had or still have one in his hifi chain? I read somewhere that they make sense for SS amps to give warm sound, but what about tube amps? In general is there any benefits adding tube buffers/preamps in chain with tube amps? I a...

Re: Musical Fidelity V-DAC II

upsamples to 24-bit/192kHz with SRC4392 Burr-Brown

edit: up 192kHz via S/PDIF (coaxial or Toslink), up to 96kHz via USB.

Re: Musical Fidelity V-DAC II

I will give myself few more days of testing and then will decide to keep it or not. Both V-DACII and V-PSUII are offered to me for 150 euros

Re: Musical Fidelity V-DAC II

Nope, power bank and cellphone chargers plug, no difference in sound though.

Interestingly enough, even Topping is not suggesting its own P50 linear power supply for e50, only for d50 and dx5

Musical Fidelity V-DAC II

I am on a verge of ordering TeraDak Chameleon DAC, but, just recently I found something also quite interesting. https://i.postimg.cc/h4Y78HP3/287662959-3152298331752142-135543713232601493-n.jpg This DAC was lent to me with the possibility to buy it if I like it, and currently I am doing A/B comparis...

Re: TeraDak-style

And I am looking if there's any second hand Teradak to buy, and there is none. This dac is either super good that no one wants to sell it or super unknown :D

Re: TeraDak-style

Thank you @antonio66

I was also lookin at this dac:

Not too many reviews around, but it is praised for its neutrality and crossfeed function that gives analogue vibe to the sound.
