Re: Antonio's 'back home' system

Pleased to say I will be going and collecting my Quad 57's this coming Monday, will be good to hear them again. I had to change the pre-amp tubes in my Yaqin yesterday, I'd inadvertently put the wrong type in. Not entirely my fault since I was recommended the valves to put in, unfortunately for me Y...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

The Fanxiang was purchased from Amazon UK, packaging seemed good and it even came with a small screwdriver. I'll see what happens when I try and format and copy my music files.

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

My thoughts on the EverSolo DMP-A6. Although I have found streaming easy using Qobuz, I have had a problem using the internal SSD due to it not showing up under files. I have ordered a M2 NVME converter case so hopefully will be able to transfer my music library using a pc and then the SSD will be r...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

@y NSNO2021 To be honest we were a little disappointed in the Muon, some tracks seemed to loose their 'get up and go', smoothing the sound too much, although this can be beneficial on other tracks. The effect was very subtle to our old and not so golden ears. We have received two AES/EBU cables, a S...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

Just hooked it up through the dCS George and it sounds fabulous. I seriously don't believe anyone would be disappointed with this streamer/dac. I will compare the dac section with my Soekris at sometime and give my thoughts.

@slinger Four different VU meter options, it's a seriously well built piece of kit.

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

An EverSolo DMP-A6 has arrived today, it didn't even take me long to start streaming some music. I've fitted an internal SSD which had to be purchased separately, but have not transferred my files over yet, must read up on the instructions. Plumbed in to my brother's system for ease using wifi to co...

Re: North West Audio Show, Cranage

Every one keeps talking about the 'younger generation' not being interested in hifi, or at least not as much as some of old buggers.
I remember going to the Harrogate HiFi show more than 40 yrs ago, it wasn't crammed with youngsters eager to hear Quad 57's and the LP12. Give them time.

Re: NVA Blog

Congratulations on your feedback, I did notice a few nice comments on your room acoustic treatments, well done. The room definitely looked great, so the feedback well deserved.

Will Jammy be there ? ;)
If he's not in the middle of the North Sea he might make the long journey from Scotland.

Jammy, gone but not forgotten!
