Re: Sci-Fidelity
Absolutely brilliant, but as said above, lot's and lot's of Autotune, and not just Chapel.

Re: Sci-Fidelity
Will be watching this over the weekend time permitting, but yes it's been a fun series thus far. At least it avoids the lets sort it all out in the last episode trap - I hope! Plus halfway through the last Picard for the 2nd time. Not sure what they can do with Discovery now, it's way too serious fo...

Re: Are CDs the future??!!
I still buy CD's but don't have a dedicated CD player. They all get ripped and stored. They get played through a variety of streamers/DAC's around the house. I do buy higher res stuff from Qobuz from time to time but it has to either be an album that I absolutely love, but don't already have a remas...

With the current crop of world politico's I'd favor the Italian practice of defenestration. Cures 99% of all known politico twats.

Re: Your last listen
Both The Skids & Big Country have decent box sets, The Skids later Burning Cities is definitely worth a go as well. No Thyself by Magazine is also rather good, though you may as well pick up Luxuria, Beast Box and Jerky Versions of the Dream along the way. Feel a bit of a fraud - currently playi...

Killing Joke 'Brighter Than a Thousand Suns' (1986) Well, 'Brighter Than a Thousand Suns' doesn't sound much like 'Night Time', it is more subtle, restrained and layered, needs a different attitude that is more open and receptive. Then it gears up into a powerful ride feeling like an express train ...

Re: Your last listen
Disc 1 is okay. 2 is a shoebox. But the Boston concert on 3 & 4 could be a soundboard recording. Very clear. I now have several of these box sets and the quality is variable but there is always at least one disc that makes it worthwhile. That's kind of my experience of those sets, usually one r...
