Re: Olympic opening ceremony

Sunday evening's BBC 1 highlight show was better. They actually had a swimmer as a pundit to talk about the swimming. Still far too much talking and not enough actual sports highlights though.

Re: Olympic opening ceremony

Shame the Saturday evening Olympics highlight show on BBC1 was so poorly presented and edited. A panel of 3 celebrities who self-admittedly didn't have a clue about the sports they were talking about. Talk talk talk talk talk. Show a bit of sport then more talk talk talk. Boring boring boring. Just ...

Re: BBC World Service Gear Auction

With thanks to Nat8808 from AOS for post #30 from this thread:

I've been able to check out some of the final bid prices, which are in many cases much higher than eBay prices - EG Technics 1210 for £460 + 40%.

Re: Albarry AP3.

With Google, it's amazing how quickly you can become one of the leading references on obscure hi-fi equipment just by buying it and talking about it in on a hi-fi forum. Post up a photo or 2 and you'll come near the top with "item x photo" searches too.

Re: LOL!

I've not been convinced by the ability of the systems that I've heard equipped with Aros to handle bass transients without softening them.

Re: BBC World Service Gear Auction

LS3/5a's would be worth buying at the right price for putting on eBay and selling to some Far East collector for a nice profit. Mentioning that they were used by the BBC World Service might even increase their value. Something to bear in mind with these auctions is that you'd have to add 40% to the ...

Re: BBC World Service Gear Auction

Did anyone win anything at this auction? I put in a pretty low bid on a tape machine and got out-bid. Pretty low in case it needed any repairs to bring it up to full working condition. The annoying thing is, I can't find anywhere that tells me what the final selling prices were of any items I was in...

Re: Can The price be justified

I don't see how the price of the Radikal can be justified in terms of the component and material cost. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h90/markemark_2006/LinnRadikal.jpg It doesn't look like there's a lot inside the power supply box. I don't see how they can justify the price of the Keel either at...

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog

The big problem that I have with the Class D amps that I've heard is that they make pianos sound wrong.
