Re: Tube buffer with Tube amp
I had the Musical Fidelity X10 D with Mullard valves and Rock Grotto mods. Years ago now but I didn't think it offered any real improvements. Mushy sludge. I thought it better without but that wasn't with a valve amp at the time though. Also, my cd player wasn't as good.

Re: Tube buffer with Tube amp
I use an ifi itube 2 as a buffer with an Audio Innovations Series 500.
Slightly different in the fact it has a special feature,
"Open up the sound stage with the 3D Holographic Sound wide setting, enjoy a sound field that is outside of the speakers with front to rear depth."

Re: Feck this, I've had enough.
Why not just keep your current gear? It sounds to me that your already obsessing about new equipment considering the KEF's etc. How much did you say they were again? You have a decent system and your Bluetooth gear for playing tunes with the family. Why not just be happy and satisfied with that? As ...

Does a classic NVA period exist?
Just wondering, in future, will there be a period in NVA's history regarded as their classic period?
Similar to chrome bumper or olive Naim? Or throughout their production life does the equipment components largely remain the same?
Would eighties NVA equal today's range?

Sad to hear. I have the first three albums. Will dig them out tonight. That single is a classic song though, that's the one.

Re: Naim price increases
Years ago, there was a flat earth Hi-fi shop in my home town. As a young man I used to gaze longingly through the window at the Linn, Naim, Rega, Royd equipment. The top of the range gear was expensive but with sacrifice, it was still in the realms of possibility. It no longer is anymore.
