Re: Your last listen

Just giving this a listen on the recommendation of a friend. Great live performance, nicely recorded, bit like a latter day Weather Report. Well worth a listen. https://f1.bcbits.com/img/a2494691052_10.jpg I've found quite a bit of new music through this thread in the past, hopefully someone will en...

Re: A40 to A80

I had an A60 stereo power amp that I was using for bi-amping before I got my second pair of A80's. Just out of curiosity I tried it as a stand alone amp and found that the A80's were, to my ears, a substantial upgrade. IMHO the A40 to A80 upgrade would be well worthwhile.

No worries, whenever. I might even buy some to try, what with the no quibble return clause and all. All I need is 30 cms. I take it that's a viable length for the mk2 SSP?

Re: TIS Loaner - First Impressions

I have to say that that's what my gut feeling, with no basis in science, is telling me too. I felt that if I'd had a system based on Statement amps the benefits might have been more apparent. Seeing as I'm happy with my black box amps though, I'd be more interested to see whether the SSP mk2 would b...

Re: TIS Loaner - First Impressions

I wouldn't want to treat the scheme as a way of satisfying my idle curiosity, more as a 'try before I buy' option.

When I'm seriously thinking of buying I'll put in a request. In the meantime anyone else can step up and make a request.

Yeah, I've wondered about that too. Maybe if they appear as loaners I'll give them a go.

Re: TIS Loaner - First Impressions

Well, I've had the SSC back in my system a couple of days now, so it's time for my final impression of the TIS. If you tack on the phrase 'a little more' before each of the following, you get an idea of my overall feeling for the cable: a) Bass b) Control c) Space d) Stereo image stability. There's ...

Re: TIS Loaner - First Impressions

The TIS loaner went Dave's (antonio66) way today, and he should have it by tomorrow.

Not had time to put the SSC back and have a good listen yet, but will do a write-up of my final impressions later this week, for anyone who's interested.
