Re: Flowery hi-fi speak

I have often heard of people who, due to illness, had only low quality audio sources. One thing they have in common is that the quality of the reproduction wasn't what mattered, it was the music. If you engage with the music you will cease to notice the faults in reproduction. Not so say that qualit...

Re: Streamers

I have been trying for months with it seems little hope of convincing anyone I have found a bargain that anyone can join in with, I first showed a version of it into my (ex) Sony Dac two years ago to DSJR. Doesn't anyone want to play music from their pooter with high levels of SQ (as good as I have...

Re: Computer Dongle Advice

I bought a 3G USB Dongle some years back and it was fine for internet access but I didn't try streaming music as I used my iPod. Since then I have used my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot to which I connect my MacBook Pro, this is cheaper but again I haven't streamed music so I don't know how good, or other...

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty

Another analogy from the world of photography. Some people are quite happy with a point and shoot camera with a small sensor and zoom lens. Others are not. Of the latter, I tend to 80/20 it i.e. 80% of the quality for 20% of the cost. So what is the P&S camera user missing out on? Principally, ...

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty

Other words from a hi-fi reviewer. If I hadn't supported and used Naim for the last 30 years I wouldn't have got any work - said in 2010. Well that is certainly honest. It is also damning; if he hadn't supported Naim we might have had honest reviews of the gear and, just possibly, the industry woul...

Re: The Death of Windows Phone.

Windows phone simply didn't attract enough developers. Microsoft makes more money from Office than any OS. And with Microsoft 365 we have 'desktop as a service'. All they need is to get the Windows 10 interface to run over Android or IOS and they're there. :) Why would I, or any one, want the Windo...
