Re: There & Back Again: A Hobbi...Headphone Lover's Tale
The Jays Audio is a super looking machine George, and would have been my go to if purchasing another CDT, but TEAC have recently brought out a new model which I bet will be good:- https://www.hifi.blog/teac-70th-anniversary-models-teac-vrds-701-cd-player-and-teac-vrds-701t-cd-transport/ Also keep yo...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
@George Hincapie Why don't you treat yourself to an EverSolo DMP-A6 like I purchased. It is worth the money alone just for it's streaming capability, your Audial dac will be better than the internal dac. Sound quality is on par with my Lumin U2 mini streamer, even I could get it to work, so you kno...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
The guys at Audiophile Style don't like using shielded cables any more. Unshielded offers better performance apparently. Funny how these things go in cycles. My understanding is that the more EMI there is the greater the need for shielding. I am doubtful if shielding has detrimental effects. So the...

Re: Antonio's 'back home' system
Andrew certainly is a nice bloke, cured the hum and repaired something else as well, all for a reasonable cost. Haven't had time to listen much, but they do sound great now. Since changing to the correct tubes, the amp is in outstanding form.

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
Shielded from router to switch, especially if you have a long run, we don't, and unshielded from switch to streamer. Melco suggest the floating end of the cable going to the best shielded component, either the switch or streamer but freely admit nothing is carved in stone.

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
The Melco C100 has a floating shield, not sure the AQ Vodka does, and don't forget we have had the Muon cable in there without the filter.
