I have done a little Googling on the Nak 700 and it was a very high end model, interesting what you say about loose tape on the head as the Nak 700 has some way of keeping the tape tight on the spools. Is it a Nak 700"only" , or a 700ZXL ? I own a Nak 680, and it exactly does what you des...

Changed the X-over to only a capacitor ( 36µF = turnover frequence is about 300 Hz !!) ; and changed the bass to a DIY Isobarik system - sounds superb !! unfilterd music !! Conventional speakers seem to distort a lot - even very expensive ones ... !!! Drums, trumpets, guitars , voices, keyboards ......

Linaeum speakers
I bought a nice pair of Linaeum LS 1000 speakers last week. Realy like them - very open an clean but without nerving after an hour - bass could be better ; but I´ll try to remove the crossover and play it with a capacitor ( the mid /tweeter starts at 200Hz !!!) Any experience with such loudspeakers?...
