The person you are sending it to unless back to me. You just have to repack it very well. I recommend not to send it in the post, or by the cheap carriers. Not much, it bypasses the small negative effect of the selector switch contacts. If you only have one source then you don't need the others. If you have other inputs connected then don't use it. BUT in those circumstances you can use it as an out for a headphone amp, being passive it works both way...

Gonna get flamed I know but....... what is the benefit of ‘direct’ on the pre amp?

Is this better to use than another input for any given source?
