Ended up faffing about on Google myself after that last post.
This piece seems useful...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal

As I wrote above, I don’t know on what specific basis the uk government presented legislation on face coverings. (might this be available in some SAGE minutes somewhere?) But I seem to recall that in general studies find mask efficacy at around 75% for limiting the spread of respiratory diseases. I ...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal

I mentioned the Danmask study because I know about it. I know about it because conspiracy ideologists who have confronted me elsewhere in the past have referenced it as evidence that masks do nothing to prevent spread to others. The BMJ piece makes clear that this was not part of the study. So my p...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal

Thanks for posting that. It's interesting what she had to say about masks. About how they were introduced for psychological reasons and how they have stayed for psychological reasons. All of which puts the legislation on wearing masks on very shakey ground. Because it's largely based on a lie / dis...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal

Just watched an interesting video from Ivor Cummins interviewing the author of a book called "State of Fear". UK Column have mentioned the Government departments mentioned in the book many times and the tactics they've used. Thanks for posting that. It's interesting what she had to say ab...

Re: The New Statement

I had one of these for several years, as part of an all NVA system (with a P90SA, TSS mk3 and Cube 1s. IIRC SSP interconnects and LS6 speaker cable). I liked the TFS, and all the other gear very much, musically and cosmetically. The TFS could operate with no moving parts (a heat sink and an SSD for ...

Re: Dome midrange drivers: Do they work?

I was looking at a Dayton Audio unit, which comes in around £50. It seems (from the data sheet (yes I know you can't necessarily believe those) ) that it is very similar up to 45° off axis as it is on, which would be useful for how I want to use it. Still expensive if I want to use two (or maybe ev...

Re: Dome midrange drivers: Do they work?

On Diyaudio.com most say they prefer a cone speaker for a mid but then you can't believe everything you read. The one ATC use is regarded as being very good by some people. I have never used one but have thought about it. They can not be crossed over as low as a 4 or 5" cone and you won't be a...

Re: Concrete sub

Once the grin wore off the realisation dawned that I don't really want to be running a dub sound system all the time, so maybe a more nuanced approach is required. Had a couple hours this morning to tweak the sub's level. I want the sub to provide bass weight, but I don't want it to be overblown, an...
