Understanding NVA amps
I wrote this nearly 30 years ago, it is still what we are about. NVA's Overall Philosophy Generally, we have never been keen on producing conventional literature, because it's usually just glossy expensive paper full of pretty meaningless specifications which have little bearing on how good the soun...

Re: Claymore ancient Giant Killer
PROOF - note "gave it to him". That should have been banned from both sides, it made the whole process corrupt and still does. In Colin's case though I can verify the Claymore was a good heavy musical rocking amp, so much better than a Naim it was ludicrous.

Re: Understanding cubetts
Wont be cheap, already recommend a really cheap Chinese one, my famous £5 DAC which with decent Linear PSU already shows up most expensive ones. This will be that simple DAC circuit (but parallel boards which I have tried and it really works) with a Big Bastard PSU (BBPSU), so think over £1000 but n...

Re: Understanding cubetts

The two I am working on are for even bigger image and extended bass, which because of the design is basically infinite - organ notes to shake the house. It started with me wanting to use a 12 incher as it was in my doc mods portfolio, so the...

Re: Understanding cubetts
Would Cubetts, or something higher up in the range, be the perfect speakers to use on a kitchen worktop for a simple kitchen system? Or, given that the worktop will be about 900mm high, would I need to add a shelf for them higher up on the wall? Need to work best for listening to the radio when sta...

Re: Understanding cubetts
You set it by ear, that is the room tuning. You start next to the wall, if the bass is too hot you inch away until it drops into balance, then you toe in to get the depth and height you want to the image, which is massive compared with other speakers, especially compared to point and squirt.
