Open Baffles
Had the opportunity to visit Vic of Trans-Fi fame last night to have a listen to his interesting speakers, which I'd discovered in having a mooch around the net looking for info on my Banstanis OB's. First of all, thanks are due to Vic for hosting me and allowing me to listen to his creations. Short...

Will bring my Unison S6 Steve, along with the Bastanis if I get the time. Can also bring the Modwright phono stage if anyone wants to hear it.

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
Mega :guiness; Side firing woofers are not something i have got along with so far in my own diy tinkering. It's a shame i couldn't get it to sound right with what i have. I tried doping a 5.25" MS902S aluminum continuous cone once but it wouldn't have it :angry-banghead: That is a serious mid ...

I have a Gullwing SLR which I think is excellent. I’ve also heard a Glider in many occasions and it’s great VFM IMO.

Re: DIY thoughts of the day
Nick will know more than me, but I do know many people using WAD phono stages swapped ECC83's to 5751 to lower gain, and it would appear the 6sl7 can usually be subbed with ECC83-

Re: DIY thoughts of the day
Does anyone know a pin compatible low gain valve for 6SL7's. My pre-amp section has 6SL7's and I might be able to reduce the gain by fitting such valves (should they exist). Don't know what you are using it on, but you should be able to sub a 5751 using an adaptor like this- https://www.angela.com/...
