THE DARKNESS (2016, US)

You heard the line, "that is halfway down the road to cliche"?
Well THIS road is so well-travelled that its been eaten away to the fucking middle of the Earth.

Fuck , fuck, fuckoff!

Water taps keep turning on, kitchen door keeps opening, tv turns itself on...

FUCK, FUCK , FUCKOFF ALREADY!

America lay the fuck down and die.

This shitflick is as bare of IDEA as a Jew's giftbox.

I hope my words will dissuade you all from taking this sad, sad route.

Never watch ANYTHING with Kevin Bacon in it. He is attracted to sharn same way as flies are.

(Also goes for Robert Redford. Ever seen a half-decent movie with Redford in it? Of course not.)

JERICHO (2016, uk)

Series not to be confused with the UK 2006 crime drama series of same name. (Dumb Blighters.)

Period drama about building of the Ribble-wotsit Viaduct in Yorkshire Dales ,to connect 2 rail lines.

Concerned with the rough life of the workers and specifically the shanty town dwellers. So, this would be the UK equivalent of the American railroad-building series......errr...wotsit or the other.

Yorky actor, Wotshisface, wot Ivor Biggun tells us was in his school, plays the lead foreman wot dies real early into the series because a nefarious niggah wannabee-foreman (of 30 yahres experience elsewhere) wants the joab. So 'im creates an opening.

LOVELY MOLLY (2012, US)

Kiddie-fiddler daddy molests daughter after he has died.
That is all there is to this movie. Absolutely all.

First 40 minutes nothing much supernatural happens except door opening.

Cheap, cheapo slap-together. No effects wotsoever.

Says made by some peeps wot made Lord Of the Rings. Fuck'em then and this shit as well.

AGATHA RAISIN SEASON 1 (UK, 2016)

Haven read tewthree of the Beaton books, this was rather a disappointment ter me.

One : its loite. Along the stoopit lines of , soy, Jeth In Paradise.Plots ur too lazy. Coincidences too planned.

First pilot episode no one has reason to murder the bloke , except clearly der wifeipoos. In the end it IS der wife, so...noo grand mystery 'ere. Noo surprize.

Two: it is rare that a screen adaptation of summat I enjoyed in book form fails ter ployz me. Fer instance film versions of Gormenghus,Poirot,Game of Thrones,Barchester Chronicles,Chronicles of Narnia were all spot-on in character, setten an' presentation. Juss loike I imargined all on reading der books.
But they yav taken libertoys with the Beaton character. Fer 'un, in the book, Raisin is clearly frumpy. In the bbc seroys, roight off the bat, as a newcomer ter the village, she guz ter the fete determined ter bostin' them, fashion-wise. It seems they at bbc yav chosen ter up-date ter present toyme.
Begins wif Agatha gibben-up 'er office joab an' yew kin sees its clearly PRESENT TIME. Even the pair o' faggerts ur happy oot in der open. It wouldnae bin loike dat in 60s. The feel of the chops is naaa longer 60s.

I think we're alone now.
More post apocalyptic mud.
God I'm stuck of post apocalyptic filums and series !
This one's got the dwarf from Game of thrones in it and it's still not enough to save it.
Bloke on his own discovers girl and find they're not the only ones alive.... ....again !
Slow....boring....shite.

Both of these have no music in the background. Brits in early 70s realized this makes for much more poignant, effective horror films.

EXORCISM ('70 UK)

nothing to do with exorcism: couple buy an old country home for a song and restore it. Celebratory Christmas party, they invite two guests. The four are haunted. Turns out a mother & children died most horribly of starvation in that house some 2 hundreds years ago.
Top acting.
Clive Swift (who plays the hen-pecked husband in Keeping Up Appearences)
Edward Petherbridge (who played the hobby-sleuth in the excellent Lord Peter Whimsey series)

MURRAIN (70, UK)

This is the subject matter I lurv:
Veternarian is called to a pig farm where the pigs are wasting of a disease which escapes his knowledge. A young boy also is wasting away. The spring that feed the farm has dried-up.
The farm workers and squire tell the skeptic vet that magick is not to be scoffed at; that science does not have answers for everything . "What the rules don't fit, don't happen."
They suspect an old woman living next the farm to be putting a curse on them. The inbreds are out for trouble but fear to go onto the old woman's property.
The vet goes to the suspected witch's hovel only to find a poor soul living on gruel and the few wormy cabbages and potatoes she can grow. The village grocery store refuses to sell her any food.
