Ah yes - I thought it was that one.

I've been working my way through the entire series and see that part 5 is in the works. There is also a spin-off miniseries which explores the background of a secret society of assassins with a strict honour code.

There are way too many, too long fight scenes but the underlying story is rather fascinating.

The story in

John Wick 4

was one of those where it seemed that the film creators wanted to make certain scenes happen, so they just made any old shit up to move the film from one scene to another. With the any old shit making no sense at all.

I know this is common practice in Hollywood action films. But this film took this style of story telling to new depths of stupidity.
But then maybe it's me that's dumb. As it did well in the box office. And as already mentioned is rated by many as being one of the best ever action films.
Maybe they know their market, and I'm not in it?

The bad guy has the owner of a hotel in his control where he can kill him. Does he take over management of the hotel? One that seems to have a high occupancy rate? And would be a nice addition to his business empire. No. He blows the hotel up.

Does he get into deep trouble for the damage done to surrounding buildings in the middle of a city, as well as civilian casualties?
The film makes it appear that he doesn't.

There's a guy that's wounded in a fight, where his attacker is willing to allow him to live. Does he stop fighting, tend to his wounds and live to fight another day?

No, he carries on fighting.

And this is supposed to be a cunning, sensible, business owner, with a daughter to live for.

The duel in the film is supposed to evoke honour and chivalry amongst this David Icke type background global ruling elite.
Whereby all Wick's transgressions against them will be forgiven if he wins the duel.

However, on the way to the duel, the person he challenged sets his thugs and hundreds of mercenaries on to Wick to either kill him or delay him enough so he doesn't get to the duel in time.

Where's the chivalry in that?

Either be ruthless with no honour at all. Or be chivalrous and not allow dirty tactics by the bad guy prior to the duel.

And why don't Wick's friends return the favour and kill the bad guy's champion before the start of the duel? It's not going to be difficult to snipe him.

There's a blind assassin that's blackmailed into being the bad guy's champion to face Wick in the duel. The best outcome for this assassin is for him to live and Wick to die. Or for him to not face Wick at all in the duel.

So like a complete and utter moron, this assassin helps Wick fight off dozens of baddies on the final approach to the duel.

If you were in a pistol duel against a blind man, would you stay as quiet as you can? Or would you speak so that he could tell the general direction in which you were standing?

If you were a second in such a duel, would you make as much noise as you can to put the blind man off?

Dear Lord, please put series 3 of Resident Alien on Netflix as soon as possible. It has to be one of the funniest and most involving shows I've ever seen. A sort of 'Mork & Mindy' but then set in 'Twin Peaks'.

Please please and I promise I won't watch 'Good Omens' (again).

I watched the first two episodes and just didn’t gel
with it. I think Alan Tudyk is an excellent actor, so maybe should give it another go.


I’ve been watching Severance (my daughter insisted I watch it, it’s interesting, quite different.
Also watched Invincible (my son insisted this time, it’s ok. Not exactly a masterpiece).

Season 2 shifts Resident Alien into a higher gear and plot lines develop that lead to a massive cliffhanger for S3.

Season 1 begins rather slowly with mainly character introduction and the enigma that is 'Harry'.

Alan Tudyk is just incredible in this.

Laat night I gave the new Netflix SF offering 'The Electric State' a view.



Now this movie has taken a hammering from the critics, who have ripped it to shreds, but .... I actually really enjoyed it!

Original? No. Chuck 'Transformers', 'Mad Max' and 'Toy Story'(!) into a blender and you will come out with this.

It is, however, visually stunning and certainly a fun family watch with excitement, humour, good Vs bad, a tough-guy hero and smart-girl heroine.

Now to set myself up for the arrival of Coppola's equally poorly-received 'Megalopolis'.

Tried to watch 'Megalopolis' and gave up after 10 minutes.

Pretentious claptrap.
