WAM Show - HFS Playlist

Unread post by savvypaul »

As we're waving the flag for HFS at the WAM Show, we thought we'd put together a playlist of tunes that are HFS member favourites.

Post your suggestions, below...

Here's one that I've used when I wanted to show off the A80s:

Nice combo of deep bass and sparkly detail.

Would a theme of tracks featuring artists that have all passed away in the last year be too morbid?

Some Rush tracks,
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band
Ozark Mountain Daredevils
The Cars first album
Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
etc etc

Hi Paul
I'm sure you'll come up with a great list.
How about some of these to mix it up;
Witches - Low.
Boogie on reggae woman - Stevie Wonder
Mercury in Retrograde - Sturgill simpson
Women - Lou Reed
Rock me Gently - Yola
You're not Free - Frazey Ford
Roadhouse Blues - The Doors
Love is Everywhere - Wilco

I’ll propose “standing ovation” by Larry Coryell”. An album almost entirely of acoustic guitars but beautiful melodies and superb playing. Not a million miles away from Michael Hedge’s “aerial boundaries” (is that too well known for a playlist ?).

All fine except Ted Nugent. I don't think a fascistoid racist weapon fanatic should be taken to represent NVA on a show.

My suggestions are:

Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun
Radio Birdman - Dark Surprise
Bauhaus - Passion of Lovers
Dollar Brand - Capetown Fringe
Sweet Smoke - Just a Poke
The Zombies - Time of the Season
