When I looked at the link I noticed a listing for some Cube 2 speakers:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NVA-Cube-2-S ... 0013.m1986

Too much for me so will have to make do with my Cubbettes!

My max bid was a punt at £100 as it included the P90 pre amp which sounds like an easy fix or potential upgrade to mk3 ( albeit an aluminium case). Even if A60 boards are gone as noted above I can still use the case and high quality transformer ( IPL vintage aka Canterbury Windings ) to maybe upgrade my similar vintage A70’s to A80’s only having to buy extra caps plus one more transformer. But let’s see what was turns up in the box !!!
Well done. Hope it works out for you. I'd have been interested except I've just ordered new power amps.

Quick update on my ebay punt. The P90 worked straight out of the box no issues at all. The A60 was a bit more work as the transformer had been fried due to shorted primary wiring. The boards were thankfully ok so fitted a 500va 30v transformer I had in lieu of the original 160va bought 2 Samwah 10000uf caps plus rectifier for £10 from Rapidonline and it sounds wonderfully powerful and full bodied with the big transformer.
Next step may be to split the input and output rails but not sure if the copper link is where to do it
Anyone able to help ?

those are very old boards - and i have a very limited knowledge here - and it looks like bottom of the box can be removed to see traces but it would require desoldering output devices first - it would be much easier to tell for sure - but even without seeing the botom of the boards i would say that copper links are your best bet ;]

btw ive never seen bypasses fitted that way before - it might be something someone added later

Thanks Tomasz. The A70s I have of similar vintage have the links in the same position. The bypass filters look original fittings by the way they mounted. I think Richard liked to experiment with filters but sadly he is not around to confirm it.

Those capacitors have definetly been added after. The doc hated capacitors.

I've seen enough of those boards to know.

I have seen bypasses like that - just not on top of the boards - but close to smoothing caps

I also do not believe Doc hated caps per se - not according to what he was telling or showing me
he just didn't think cheap were good enough and expensive one were not good value to cost them in.
His last BBPSU had similar one fitted...

29mile can i ask - yellow one looks like 10mf 250v? and what is that blue one?

Tomasz the blue ones are ERO 1845 0.068uf film capacitors. Might be worth experimenting with in the workshop when you have time ?

I also have a TFS power supply unit with 2 supplies and they have similar capacitors fitted just after the 2 x 10000uf + 2 x 4700uf capacitors per rail.
