That's not got a moulded plug on.

Just because I don't say everything doesn't mean I'm wrong. Before you contradict me, you'd do well to remember that.

If I've listened to Tomasz correctly...

...at one time Richard found it hard to source the right gauge mains cable with the right insulation in 2 core and with a moulded plug and fuse. Also, he needed 3 core for some components, so why stock both cables when one type could be used / adapted for both?

Hope this helps.

I'm refurbishing my 833a monoblock amps, improving the power supply and increasing the HT to a real 1,000v.

One unit is completed, and the second one has been started on. After I fitted the filament chokes I ran up the filaments (10v @ 10A) to heat soak the valves as they have not been used for a few years.

A picture of some parts. Filament choke, mains toroidal transformer, and MKP type PSU capacitors.

The battery is an AA for size comparison.

What to do with this ???? It's an EI frame transformer of gigantic proportions that was given to me. No idea of VA but the single centre tapped secondary is 60-0-60 V AC. Too much for anything I am using unless NVA output transistors can handle 84 V DC

There is a £2 coin on top of it in this one

The hammer to use is the right one for the job.

It's usually easier to use a big hammer in moderation rather than a small hammer with much vigour.
