A company called custom hifi cables also makes power supplies for naim and other brands as well.

Hey Firebug thanks. I had a look at their website the look promising. I will be spending my money on the NVA amplification and speakers first. The CD5 power supply will have to wait for now. Do the Cubes go down low in the bass department. They just seem so small to be delivering really low bass frequencies. I do love the size and aesthetics though.

A HiCap or FlatCap may well be silly money new and used, and be basic in the extreme inside (a low impedance supply is the key according to the Acoustica site), but they have a Naim case and flocks and flocks of Naimie-sheeple to keep prices buoyant. You buy one, keep it for a few years and it'll sell for much the same money. Nick and others may well make a superior product, but it won't look the same and neither will it have a Naim badge in the front...

The other thing that some of you seem to forget or not care about, is cosmetics. A FlatCap 2 is the same cosmetic as the CD5 itself and I don't see a problem with standing one on the other, as the boxes are slim enough to not look ridiculous and as long as any phono stage is kept away (laterally is easier rather than above or below I seem to remember), sonics shouldn't be an issue.

Going back to the first page of the thread, I can certainly vouch for the quality of LS6 speaker cable. With the house to myself I did some extended listening over the weekend and am fully appreciating the improvements it has brought about. Money well spent.

Have a look at http//www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194984&highlight=tpx1.5

An Avondale TPX1.5 power supply unit with TPR4 regulator module for £345. Amazing value and will out perform all those old Naim psu by a country mile.

It is not on Les' website but just call him, give debit card details etc and it will be yours. Sale or return.

This is for sale by Gaius and not Les, or were saying go straight to Les at Avondale? Just so you know Gaius is a good seller.
