It can sit any way, it doesn't matter. Power supplies stacked is also no problem.

I got more noise with phono 2 PSU's stacked so it may be case sensitive. PM sent re BMU loan.

Classicrock, got the BMU stood on its end with both Phono 2 PSU's sat on top of the BMU stretched max allowable distance the Phono 2 leads will allow behind a Tannoy Wardrobe, and touch wood I am getting no discernable noise at all

Pretty much instant effect here. Same when I took it out, too.
