It IS a name that is distinctive, memorable and unusual. Draws attention. Sticks in the memory.

I was part of a large international online electronics business with thousands of orders a day and I can absolutely state customers represent all aspects of human life. The simple act of buying something from our business did not make everyone that bought from us right.

We had all sorts of people try to defraud us, post lies on forums, you name it, we experienced it and that included some nutter in Belgium who created a web site to issue death threats to the Nokia's CEO of the day and myself. Thankfully the vast majority of customers were decent and we did our best by them but to say customers are always right is daft.

Many years ago I was leaving an aircraft at Terminal 1, Heathrow and came across an elderly couple who needed to be down at ramp level to get on a coach. The gentleman insisted that I should let them use the outside access steps on the jetty, I refused. He took my name and staff number insisting that he would contact the chairman. My response was to tell him that I would expect a commendation for doing the right thing.

This customer was most certainly not right, the steps were steep, open and exposed. There was no insurance if a passenger used them and we had instructions to ensure that this didn't happen.

The customer is only right when they are stating what they want, once they have settled for less than that, they get what they have paid for. Very few customers get what they want.

When I worked behind the bar at my local the guv'ner always insisted that not only was the customer definitely not always right, but quite often the customer was a drunken arsehole, however, he (or she) was always, it should be remembered, the customer.

At last, the revelation that a huge socialist plot has finally been uncovered after decades of furtive preparation.

I did keep wondering why, when I googled NVA, I kept being referred to the 'North Vietnamese Army'.

Explains a lot. :naughty:

I'd feel a bit queasy using name so closely associated with a brutal totalitarian regime, even if its use is only tongue-in-cheek. It's also kinda clunky.

I'm sure there's a better name out there that can convey the relevant ideas. A starting suggestion: The Workhorse.

Here are two definitions from Collins:
2. a steady, responsible worker who assumes a heavy workload
3. a machine, vehicle, etc. that proves to be durable and dependable

But it caught your attention...and it inspired you to post here for the first time in 4 months. I'll take 'a bit queasy' as an upgrade on generally absent ;)

Hah! But not true. A chance to have a nice long session - the first in ages - with my *checks notes* Artisan M600s prompted me to drop by. It's nice to be reminded of just how good they are

Also, my absence is only due to the fact that lockdown and post-lockdown as the main carer of two infant children is pretty brutal, and keeps me off forums in general.

I like Pit Pony.
