Look out for used deals. As well as any sale items. You already have a working phono amp. So it's not like there's any mega hurry.

And look out for deals on alternative turntables. If something comes up at the right price, take a punt on it.
I have only just started playing vinyl again as I hated it with Naim - i have looked at a few TT's but see no point in getting another Rega as I don't believe there is any VFM - TT's are ridiculous prices due I suppose to the resurgence in interest in Vinyl - any suggestion that won't involve divorce proceedings
I agree. I also see no point whatsoever in you buying another Rega, unless you can get a Planar10 for £150.

The alternatives I was thinking of were the better engineered 1960's idlers and the midrange to top of the range 1970's to 1980's direct drives from Japan or Germany. Whatever you see a good deal on.

Buying brand new belt drives at retail price is a mugs game.

For what its worth I had a Rega P3 which I swapped out for a Technics 1210 - a huge (surprising for me at the time) improvement - moved on to a Lenco which is so so much more - so definitely look in that direction - there are ready made plinths on eBay to house the deck quite easily plus a dedicated forum to provide all the answers....also in respect of Phono stages inserting an NVA Phono stage resulted in a genuine OMG moment more than any other change made
