Have you compared it with the DAC that The Doc and I use - you know, the little black box for a tenner or less plus forty quid linear supply all from eBay? That's got to be at least a basic benchmark to compare with any dealer-bought confection at £500 or more... Well worth getting for the emergency drawer as is say, a Rega Carbon cartridge for when the expensive model is away...
The Doc told me about this dac and psu so I invested the £50. Using a P90SA and A20 at the moment and thinking that this dac has a lot of promise. I’m looking forward to trying it with a TSS.
I've been using one of these cheapos for a few months now (having used the DAC simply plugged into the USB power on my MacBook initially (to good effect) then upgrading to a standalone DAC I bought on here from George Hincapie) - I bought one of the power supplies that the Doc recommended and I have to say that the improvement was considerable. And all for less than £50!
I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.
Current System: Linn LP12 Lingo Ekos Troika, NVA PHONO2 with BBPSU, NVA AP20 (White), Quad ESL 57s &/or NVA Cube3s (White)

I'm sorry, I'm dumb for electronics, except "don't touch the little piggy's nose in the wall".
I've checked the links, the psu is 9v, the dac is 5v, is this ok?

Ive run a 5v DAC from a 9v power supply and it got a little hot, theres one 5v version left but its not exactly the same type of supply. 5v

When I ordered the psu, I was given a choice of voltage outputs including 5v. My psu runs at 5.15v which I hope is ok.

Or if you want to try a more recognized name for the dac part try a Fiio Tashcan I paid £15 off another forum but they seem to be about the same price on ebay and I bought one of those Switch mode 5V plugs and usb cable for another £2.99 and it works a treat, does it sound better than my other dacs probably not, does it sound worse, probably not.

I can tell you for certain it will not be as good as this.
