Is that like...a warning triangle that is really fussy about where you put it?
No its the same as say pulling someone up about a spelling mistake even though its obvious to a blind man what it says.. No need for it is there
I am sure I remember you in the past getting upset over the ideas of the resistors on a PCB not all facing in the same direction...

I can but my argument is a person knows full well what a word means but pulls it because its spelt wrong. They obviously know what the word means so why not leave it? The Resistor ID stripe uniform business was over lack of Quality control.

Ever noticed i spell words in a Yorkshire dialect or make them sound rude on a purpose ie: i sell Genesis 'Gen-arse-is'.
Quark was being helpful
You were being wrong
I was being sarcastic
Lurcher was being right

I like 'Gen-arse-is', btw...

It wasn't obvious that it was wrong, that is why I said "I think". I had considered that Doc might have meant edition of the system rather than addition to the system.

Thank you for the support Lurcher, Shamanic and Savvy.

Anyway, as far as I know pedantry isn't against forum rules but ad hominem is.
Main System. Amp - Luxman LV-120, CD - Pioneer PDX505 & Hitachi DA 401. Turntable - Trio KD-2055/Denon DL-110 & Ortofon VMS20E. Cassette Deck - JVC KD A55. Speakers - Arcam Alpha connected with NVA LS3.

Headphone System - Little Dot Mkiii headphone amp, various vintage CD players into NVA P50 with Sennheiser HD600 and Beyer DT 880

I was going to ask, "And how is this any different?"

Well, in fact, it is, the direction of the resistor makes zero difference, using the wrong word is wrong. The two words in question only sound similar, their meanings are very different, as is their tense.

"The first edition of a book" and "The first addition to a book" mean very different things. "The first edition to a book" doesn’t make sense.

But it is as you say in this case its a matter of quality control.
