Headphone amp.

Unread post by Karnevil9 »

Looking for a good sounding Headphone amps but cant be warm sounding Most importantly no Brushed or shiney black finish.. Im looking for something matt black well finished..The Headphone amp im using is too big depth wise as deep as my turntable actually :-?

Recommendations nothing that will break the bank cos quite frankly they are not worth what a lot charge.

Has anyone heard the Musical Fidelity 'LX2-HPA'? Thats the kind of Price, Finish & size im looking for! It also doubles as a Pre Amp which is also something im looking for.

Er... NVA AP10H????

I use an MF XCanV3 in one setup. Bit warm-sounding due to valve output stage, but nice sound.

Some 1980's integrated amps can work well as headphone amps, and you can pick them up for next to nothing. Sanusi AU series for instance, or old Kenwood/Trio amps.

No thanks Shane..

Fretty i have slightly warm sounding AKG Headphones why i dont want an Headphone unit with warmth. It needs to be small footprint like the Musical Fidelity LX2-HPA. infact thats kinda perfect for size, Looks & cost but i dont know what they sound like!

Try asking the crew over on Head-Fi. You'll leave with your brain bulging with info!

No thanks.i have my own ears not what others ears say..which kinda contradictz what im asking. but i just want a short list of unit that are finished, Look & size, price of the one i mentioned. i can try.

The real help would be if someone could say if the MF i mentioned was a clean Neutral sound or a warm sound!
