I still maintain once your looking at the Redbook Digital its guesswork, you can't ever know what was between those samples for sure.

Pioneer tried this with the Legatto Link DAC. On simple stuff I personally liked it. On complex stuff it generally made things worse

What gaps. The gaps between samples is meaningless there are no gaps the analogue signal is bandwidth limited in the ADC.

I had the Chord Mscaler on loan for a week and a half and it does what it says on the tin. The difference at the dealers was minimal, but in my system it is significant. The improvement is the sound stage, both in terms of width and depth. Bass definition is also better. There is more space between instruments, vocals and backing vocals resulting in what i would describe as a more relaxed and at ease musical presentation. I am missing it and have a four week wait for one to arrive. I was aware that supply was not keeping up with demand.

It is not a DAC, it upscales the signal fed into the DAC from 44hz to 705hz or from 96hz to 768hz. Dual BNC inputs on the DAC are required to achieve the maximum upscaling. Single BNC takes it to 352hz.

AFAIK, its not a DAC, digital in and out. I had one to test a new power supply against it. I could hear zero difference. if you can hear a difference that's interesting. My feelings is if there is a audible difference its saying something about the DAC you are using more than anything else.

I thought it was designed only for the Chord dacs. I might be wrong...

ah I see, I had assumed it also had analogue outputs.

So your tests were using the Same DAC with and without it

I have the Chord Qutest DAC which has dual BNC inputs. The Mscaler will work with any make of DAC with a BNC input and upscale to 352hz. I have found that most of the benefits are achieved at 352hz.
