I reckon that all my streaming devices added together cost less than half the price of an optical Rendu.

There's some obscene price gouging going on with the OR, that's for sure.

I still want to try one though; having an integrated SFP cage is excellent and would be a much neater solution than using a separate FMC with a further LPSU.

@George Hincapie Why don't you treat yourself to an EverSolo DMP-A6 like I purchased. It is worth the money alone just for it's streaming capability, your Audial dac will be better than the internal dac. Sound quality is on par with my Lumin U2 mini streamer, even I could get it to work, so you know it's simple to use, and they look good. Better sq than my fanless mini pc. There's plenty of info on YT and the net.

£2K today. VortexBox seems to have disappeared, so it's a US import too.

Small Green Computers list it at just under 1.5K.

They are in the US mate, so we have the joy of adding 20% (£294.40) + shipping costs. And it isn't in stock

It is worth the money alone just for it's streaming capability, your Audial dac will be better than the internal dac. Sound quality is on par with my Lumin U2 mini streamer, even I could get it to work, so you know it's simple to use, and they look good. Better sq than my fanless mini pc. It doesn't have a BNC out, but using an adapter will be ok.
