I accept there is a degree of negativity on here towards the modern day Linn but I am left wondering what other forums make of such blatant profiteering by Linn 🤔

USB B connectors, are they being phased out in preference to the small C connector? I saw a video on YT, and the young man seemed to think, and like this idea. Then looking at stuff yesterday I noticed he could be right, not on the more expensive items, but at the lower end.

USB C is the accepted standard connection for smartphones nowadays. The advantage over USB micro-B is that the internal connections are mirrored so it doesn't matter which way it is inserted.

Recent devices like the Pi4 are now adopting USB C for input/power.

I have become increasingly aware of the importance of power supplies and have read so many positive reports about the Sbooster, in particular how it elevates the performance of the Qutest. A number of the comments maintain that it lifts the performance to above that of the TT2 (contains headphone socket and pre amp) which costs nearly four times as much as the Qutest. I ordered one on Friday and Future Shop delvered this the next day.

A very noticable improvement was immediately apparant. There was a marked increase in overall authority and bass impact. After a short run in, an increase in the depth of the image became very apparant. As the instructions advise that 100 hours is required for full run in I am anticipating more.

It is more expensive, bigger and more expensive that the MCRU it has replaced. The MCRU brought about an improvement over the supplied Chord wall wart which I found to be subtle, but this is anything but. The MCRU will be connected to the Topping E30 in my second system when an adaptor arrives and I am expecting a positive outcome.

I also ordered this.

By all reports it is a very worthwhile add on to the Sbooster but will have to wait until July for it to be in stock. The Sbooster will be fully run in by then so I will be able to accurately judge what it adds.

I knew good power supplies are important throughout the audio chain, but not to this extent. In view of the difference it has made to the DAC I am wondering what the Sbooster would add to the Mscaler and Micro Rendu.

I've got an Sbooster on a Cambridge DacMagic Plus, it really raises the performance to a completely new level.

I'd forgotten about that. It seemed to do bugger-all so it lasted about a week and then I put the 0.3m WW Starlight 7 back in.

I've got a limited amount of space too, so it made things more awkward because, A: obviously, it couldn't be bent around any corners, and B: there wasn't enough clearance behind the DAC to connect it there, so I was only able to try it between the Wyrd and the Oehlbach.

You need a boot up the bottom if you spend £4K on a PSU young man
